Join us for this one hour talk by Father Gildas of Caldey Island.

In his talk, Father Gildas will take you through the years 1517-1603, looking at what exactly happened in Tenby during each individual Tudor Reign. Many areas will be considered along the way, including:

• The position of Tenby in the context of Wales, and mainland Europe.

• The lives of the people of Tenby – how did the Reformation affect them?

• The involvement of the Tenby merchants leading up to the time of the Armada.

• The Maudlins and St John’s Hospital.

• The port books of Tenby – were they truthful?

• Pope Pious V and his excommunication of Elizabeth I.
